Extensions and complete refurbishment of the hospital upgrading to a major state of the art facility, the works were phased to avoid the building closing down whilst the work was carried out.

Hough Construction were chosen to carry out this project as we had previously successfully completed over 15 Veterinary surgery refurbishments for Willows Veterinary Group. Willows knew that they could trust us to carry out this refurbishment to their flagship practice whilst still using the building, this was the least disruptive way forward meaning clients were not inconvenienced throughout the works and Willows could maintain full staffing levels without the need to close down.

Scope of works

• Construct extensions to the hospital
• Construct new entrance porch with disabled entrance ramp & pedestrian steps
• Alter the internal layout of the building to accommodate new operating theaters & more efficient working areas
• Replace suspended ceilings throughout with acoustic tiles to absorb sound
• Complete re-wire
• New fire alarm system
• Gas boiler with and re-circulating pumped hot water
• Complete re-plastering and insulation upgrade to the existing areas of the building
• New toilets
• Oak veneered fire doors with architectural ironmongery
• Complete decoration of the building
• Safety flooring throughout by Polyflor
• Installation of Howdens high gloss cabinetry throughout

• Aluminum automatic sliding entrance doors
• Glass balustrading to front entrance ramp and steps
• Oak veneered reception counter
• Installation of stainless steel kenneling throughout to dog, cat and small animal wards
• Fitting of surgical operating lights
• Installation of a pipe anesthetic gas system with active scavenging
• Installation of lead lined door & window for specialist radiation shielding from CT scanner
• Air conditioning system throughout with heat recovery ventilation system by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
• Work in connection with CT scanner
